KPK Education News: Classes Suspended in Unsafe School Buildings After Peshawar Roof Collapse (October 2026)

 After a roof collapse at a private school in Peshawar, the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department has ordered all districts to check school buildings. Teaching must stop at once in any building found unsafe, and students must be shifted to nearby schools or other safe places.

پشاور کے ایک نجی اسکول کی چھت گرنے کے بعد خیبر پختونخوا محکمہ ابتدائی و ثانوی تعلیم نے تمام اضلاع کو اسکولوں کی عمارتوں کی جانچ کا حکم دیا ہے۔ جو عمارت غیر محفوظ قرار پائے وہاں فوراً تدریس روک دی جائے گی اور طلبہ کو قریبی اسکولوں یا دوسری محفوظ جگہوں پر منتقل کیا جائے گا۔

What the department ordered — محکمے کی ہدایات

• First survey the schools marked as high-risk. — پہلے مرحلے میں زیادہ خطرے والے اسکولوں کا سروے۔
• District Education Officers must quickly verify complaints, photos and videos about unsafe buildings. — ضلعی تعلیمی افسران غیر محفوظ عمارتوں سے متعلق شکایات، تصاویر اور ویڈیوز کی فوری تصدیق کریں۔
• Classes resume only after repair and safety clearance from the technical authority. — مرمت اور متعلقہ تکنیکی ادارے کی منظوری کے بعد ہی کلاسیں دوبارہ شروع ہوں گی۔
• Repairs will be prioritised with the Communication and Works Department; major defects go for technical assessment. — مواصلات و تعمیرات محکمے کے ساتھ مل کر مرمت کو ترجیح دی جائے گی؛ بڑے نقائص کا تکنیکی جائزہ ہوگا۔
• Districts had to send full reports by 12 noon on 21 October 2026. — اضلاع کو 21 اکتوبر 2026 دوپہر 12 بجے تک مکمل رپورٹ بھیجنی تھی۔

If your school building has been declared unsafe, your classes may move to a nearby school for some time. Follow your school's and district education office's instructions.
